WHAT'S NEW?

05/24/09- Tomorrow's Memorial Day. We'll be going to a ceremony in the morning to honor those we've lost and to remember the brave kids who died in combat, and those who have lived through it. Bagpipes playing and veterans speaking, always moving. I'm working on getting some more songs on tape, and really appreciate those of you who have encouraged me to keep it up. My next project will be more of my favorite jazz and blues grooves, a little more purist feel. Have a great summer y'all.

10/20/08- This weekend I flew to visit an Atlanta suburb in Georgia and y'all are
missing something if you've never been. I have post-culture shock. When I flew into
Atlanta, people walking every which way looked me in the eye and said hello as we
passed each other! We went to the Waffle House and were received with warm
hospitality by our wise crackin' waitress, who yelled out her orders in a commanding
voice to the hard working cook, who expected orders to be called with order and accuracy.
When my son finished his breakfast, he was full and could not finish it. The waitress took
his plate and with concern returned to ask him if he did not like his hash browns (which
come diced, smothered, and every which way..mmmmm), as he did not eat them. My
son told her no, they were delicious, he was just full. The waitress asked him if he was sure
because she wanted to take the hash browns off of his bill. "No, really they were delicious I
was just full." She hesitantly conceded.

The next day we went to the grocery store and I asked a clerk where the jarred gravy
was. Another clerk interrupted and escorted me right to the jars. I apologized and said I
had passed that very section twice and did not notice them on the top shelf. She said she
would not have noticed them either were it not for her needing to put a price tag on them
the previous day. She went out of her way for me.

I think they displayed a perfect example of being kind. In this harried world, we focus a
lot on what's ahead more than what's going on right now (I'm guilty). Giving someone a
hi or a nod makes everyone's day better, me thinks…

Musically, working on finishing a few more songs. I added a couple of songs to my
Voice Lessons page, check them out.

07/18/08 - Hey, thanks SO much for all of your feedback and responses in my guestbook and email! And thanks to those of you who have purchased my CD. A special thanks and shout out to Kevin H. who purchased five CD's and Rula R. who purchased six of 'em!! Just returned from a vacation to the beautiful Midwest. Got a lot of inspiration for some new songs and was able to think and take a break from work and my little projects. Also, enjoyed time with family.

05/26/08 - Welcome back! Excuse Me! is mastered and ready to go. Phew!!! I organized the website to be more user friendly. THANKS for all of your input. I have received numerous emails and THANKS again! You will be receiving (if you haven't already) my little "elevator pitch" in your email. I NEED YOU to help me spread the word to your address book if you can spare the time.  Let's try to send the info the friends near and far away.

As soon as my songs are ready for download capability through CD Baby and iTunes, I'll be sending out the message for your help. Thanks again for your support and talk to you again in a couple of weeks. For now, there is a free download of A Parting Word on this site. I hope you like it. I wrote it after I went to this funeral of a law enforcement officer who did not get a chance to leave his kids a parting word before he unexpectedly was taken from this unpredicatable earth life...
